Hypothyroidism Symptoms in Women

I was asked for more information about the symptoms of Hypothyroidism in women. I figured I would post it on here so that everyone would be able to have access to all of the information that I have found.

Here are the symptoms of Hypothyroidism in women:

- Heavier then normal cycles
- Due to heavier cycles there is a chance of becoming anemic
- Hyperprolactinemia which is where the body produces to much Prolactin. Prolactin is a protein that is associated with breast development and the production of breast milk.
- Galactorrhea is where the breast creates milk even with out pregnancy and the birth of a child.
        - These two conditions can cause other symptoms in women such as breast enlargement, pain in the nipples and breast as well as unusual breast discharge.
- Lower sex drive
- depression
-anxiety
- Infertility. This is only in extreme and Sever cases of Hypothyroidism from I read.
- Obesity

These are just the basic symptoms that are found in women with Hypothyroidism. Most of the symptoms can also be cause found in different conditions such as PCOS. So please if you have these symptoms or ones like these see your doctor, get checked out early.
