Happily Ever After

What is happiness?  That’s a big question and its different for everyone.  Some of us may say, "If I made more money, I would be happy" or "If I reach my goal weight, then I will be happy."  Why do we have to put a condition on our happiness?  I think part of being happy is acceptance.  Accepting EVERYTHING that happened in your past, good and bad.  Knowing that those things especially the bad made you who you are today.  We learn from those things and they truly make us better people.  Accepting the present.  Even though things may not be our own perfect image of how our life should be, it is what it is and although we accept it that does not mean we do not strive to make things better.  If it is in our control, do it, if not there is nothing we can do about it so we must accept it.  We must also accept that our future may not turn out exactly the way we want it.  I heard a line in a song once, "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans."

We cannot control everything.  Many of us feel we must control everything, but in reality we have total, complete control over much less than we think.  We must accept the things we have no control over.  There is a saying, "Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it."  How are you reacting to things you have no control over?

I know this is much easier said than done, but we must strive to get there.  And I know that women with PCOS, like myself, may have to work a bit harder at this, but we can do it.  There will be bad days and really bad days, but hopefully as we strive towards ACCEPTANCE we will start having less bad days and many, many more good days.  Please join me as we find our happiness together. ~ Tammy
